Girl's Dresser Before and After

This is Kate's dresser that she will share with baby Alice when we she comes and we are in the new house. We bought it about 4 years ago from a thrift store for $25. Great find, but it wasn't going to work with the color palette that I want for the girl's room.

And so, even though I am in my 8th month of pregnancy and slowly working on packing and play at being a single mom when Josh is traveling {which is most of the time} I decided to go for it.

Last week when Josh was home for a bit, a friend came over and helped Josh carry it downstairs. I sanded it in the garage and then let it take over the house, because I didn't want the cold temperatures to mess up the paint job. So the dresser body has been living in the entryway, the drawers in the living room, and the hardware on the table and kitchen bar.

And yes, all of the day to day cleaning for the house fell by the wayside... but it was so worth it to get this done.

This is the dresser currently still living in the entryway until Josh makes it home and we borrow another set of muscles again.

The box in the left side of the photo is baby Alice's crib still in it's box. That's also waiting on Josh's muscles to be put somewhere else until the move.

FYI: Our tentative closing date on our house is 5 days before the scheduled c-section. Yes. This does stress me out.

I LOVE the glossy white of the dresser and that I painted the hardware the exact same way. It's perfectly girlie glam. It will look so good in their new room... especially once I've painted the walls.

Even though the inside of the drawers were clean they looked dirty. Not something that I was ok with when putting my chick's clothes in them. I had just recently picked up this really pretty wrapping paper from Target that they have out right now for Valentine's Day. It just happens to be the perfect colors for the girl's room. I decided to use my Mod Podge for the first time EVER and used it as the glue for the wrapping paper. I didn't put a layer of Mod Podge on top because I like the feel of the paper.

I love it!

I have a dresser and night stand that match that one. They look great in my living room, but we're moving (in like 2 weeks! yikes!) and it'll go in my daughters room in the new house. Her and I were just talking about how we're gonna make it over. LOL

So pretty!! Did you use spray paint or did you brush paint it? I'm curious because I have a desk that I would like to do this with. Once again, it looks awesome! :)
