booster seat~ before & after

Todd's seat has been driving me crazy. I know he only has 6 months left in it, but I decided that for those last 6 months it should look alot better than it previously did.

Here is the before:

It's not in too bad shape but is well worn. But I decided that I wanted his cover to look like the cute ones I've seen for sale.

Here's the after:

I just hand appliqued the fabric right onto the seat cover. I just laid the fabric onto the seat and curled the edges under and invisible stitched the edges. Thats it.

And I'm loving how it turned out.

my light fixture

After making the pink chandelier and putting it in the girl's room, I was still in need of a light fixture for Josh's & my bedroom. I picked up another brass light fixture {this one was $20} from Habitat for Humanity.

I primed it and then spray painted it a glossy white. Then I had Josh use his smarts and hang it up in our bedroom for me.

I swapped out the light bulbs for round ones. I love how it puts the chandelier over the top. It looks so elegant and, yet, simple with the grey walls in my bedroom.

It's so nice to be able to flip a switch now and have a main light come on.

Plus, it's pretty.

before & after: light fixture

I've decided to start this rainy Monday off with an awesome {if I do say so myself} before & after. Please don't mind the instagram photos. They're all I could find since I did this project before I lost my phone on the NYC subway along with my pictures.

I needed a light fixture for our bedroom so I picked up one for $15 at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. It's just a generic brass one that is up in many apartments. We've even had this same chandelier in two of our old apartments.

I couldn't stand the way it looked but it had definite possibilities.

I primed it {spray paint} and then spray painted it with a pink. And then added these amazing bulbs.

Seriously the round bulbs change the whole look.

I love how it looks.

I ended up putting it in the girl's room instead of our bedroom. Kate loves it. The pink perfectly matched the girl's door which I recently painted pink. I'll post a pic of that door soon.
