I want...

I want some quality cotton black & white zebra print fabric!!! So bad. There are sooo many things that I would love to make with it. Oooh, and some more black & white damask fabric or even colorful damask. Oh, I could dream all day about it. Alas, I must get back to reality.

stuffed toadstool

So... this started out as a project at 10 pm one night. lol It was originally going to be a toadstool hat for Kate. Then around midnight I stuck it in my craft drawer and didn't pull it out for a loooong time. The other week, Kate found it and pulled it out. I decided that it was about time for me to finish the project. Waaaay too small to be a hat, I decided that the most that I could do with it was stuff it and then Kate could have a toadstool for her Woodland Fairy room.

May Giveaway!

As the end of May was creeping up, I was trying to decide what to do for this month's giveaway. Finally I decided on this adorable girl's apron. It should fit a 2/3 year old just fine. I checked on my little boy who is a big 3 yr. -almost 4 year old. It is a new design with the curves, but I love it!

The giveaway deadline is June 1st, Monday. The winner will be announced on June 3rd.

I used some Amy Butler fabric from the Daisy Chain line.

getting ready to mail...

I'm getting my 'pay-it-forward' packages ready to mail. They should go out at the end of the week. I'm quite excited to be mailing one to Kansas & one to New Zealand. How fun to be sending out pretty packages in the mail.
After I think that they've received their packages, I'll be sure to post the gifts on here.

Sock Monkey Baby Quilt

I had originally done a rag quilt for my little nephew soon to arrive. BUT, made a few mistakes and in the wash it came apart. Aaaaargh! But never fail, I received some material in the mail that day to prevent me from being too upset. Some of that material was this fun sock monkey fabric.  So, I started a different baby quilt.

And this is the one that I made...
I stipple quilted it and used a spring green for the backing and a pretty yellow for the binding. It turned out quite well, I think. It is the 2nd one that I've stipple quilted. And is safe in the wash. lol The photo is post-wash.

Baby David!

My brother and his wife are having their first baby! Yay! I am so excited and made this cute sock monkey blanket for him (It's a Boy).

*I had actually made an adorable rag quilt first, made a couple of mistakes so that when I put it in the wash, it totally came apart! Aaargh! Thank goodness that I had gotten this sock monkey fabric in the mail the very same day.

In the box are two bib & burp cloth sets (see here for a better view of some I had made before), Melissa's nursing cover, and the blanket. I also added a couple of adorable outfits for my little nephew. He is to be born this weekend and they should get this blanket just in time! Hooray!

Mother's Day present

For one of my Mother's Day present, I bought lots of fabric at Above All Fabric! Most of it was Amy Butler fabric that she has on sale. Amy Butler's lines of fabric, Midwest Modern & Daisy Chain, are being discontinued and so she has them on sale. I also bought some cute stuff from the 'end of bolts' section. She has some really cute material there for excellent prices!

Preview

Every time that I started a new quilt, Todd would get so excited and ask, "Is this my blanket?" And I would have to crush his hopes and tell him 'no'.  He would look so sad when I started the Haley quilt that I told him that the next quilt that I would be his. I am doing the 'snail trail' block and am hoping that the end result will be a quilt with the look of swirling water for his nautical/ tropical rainforest/ hawaiin/ with a touch of pirate room.
