I've recently painted Todd's wooden bedroom furniture black to make it matching and to hide the millions of nicks on it. I LOVE the black! It makes the colors of the quilt pop out to my eye and makes his bedroom furniture seem much more sophisticated. 

Hooray!

I'm so excited! Hopefully this is the first one of many dresses to be put up on my etsy shop! Isn't Kate so adorable holding onto Josh's finger? Love it!

Tie x 2

Todd loved the first tie so much that he insisted on wearing it with everything. (And that includes a green w/ white polka dot tie and a orange plaid shirt)  I decided to make him another one. One big difference though, is that I put in velcro for the closure instead of having the whole thing being elastic. I really prefer this way. I made it from the daisy chain line from Amy Butler fabric.

Yesterday's project

So, I decided to make some dresses to sell in my etsy shop. This is going to one of them, I think, as long as I don't get too attached to it. It is so cute! It's not finished yet, but this is pretty much how it will look finished. I want to put a liner in though, never done that before, but it should be pretty simple...
This is Kate being my model since I don't own a dressform and don't use patterns. She has finally decided that she loves wearing the dresses as I try them on her and fusses at me when I take it off to sew more.

More pics to come when it is entirely finished. It might take a while though, since I think that I will be doing the lining by hand and still need to do the buttonholes and that will probably be by hand, too.
